Netflix Instant: TV and Movie Picks

So there's a small little movie coming out this weekend, maybe you've heard of it, THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. If battling movie crowds isn't your cup of tea, here are some great picks for you to watch this weekend.

THE BABADOOK
In recent horror movie trends, horror movies rarely make an impact anymore. Movies rely on jump scares and the 'found footage' angle to even try to create a supposedly scary movie. But THE BABADOOK flips horror on its head and smartly and expertly relies on mood and tension to create a suspenseful film. It's quite different from typical American horror films, and that's a good thing. Are you brave enough to watch it with the lights out?

DEEP BLUE SEA
This is a film I've loved for a long time. I remember seeing it when it came to video and was completely shocked at how different of an action movie it was. It takes the typical action movie tropes and flips it on its head. Plus, it has one of the best deaths ever about 45 minutes into the film.

TREVOR NOAH: AFRICAN AMERICAN
When Trevor Noah was announced as the new host of The Daily Show once the great Jon Stewart departs in August, I was curious to see how funny Noah actually was. This stand-up is quite hilarious and smart. His jokes aren't the typical jokes, and he uses his heritage to an advantage while giving spot-on social commentary. After seeing this, I have faith that he will be able to reach the high bar set by Stewart.
