As always, there are some awesome movie events happening this week including a showing of a stage play, a dance party, classic horror films, and an opportunity for a drive-in experience!
Monday, October 20th
Alamo Drafthouse: David Cronenberg's grosstastic feature, THE FLY, will show at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, October 21st
Alamo Drafthouse: The horror classic, THE EXORCIST, will show at 7 p.m. hopefully with a pea soup special. If mullets are more your thing, The Action Pack will feature THE LOST BOYS at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 22nd
Alamo Drafthouse: Another chance to sing-a-long with your favorite talking plant in THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at 7:00 p.m. But if an epic horror movie is more your speed, then THE SHINING will be playing at 8:00 p.m.
Granada Theater: Free film plus whiskey specials! On the rooftop at Sundown at the Granada at 8:30 p.m. a presentation of GROUNDHOG DAY will happen. There's no excuse because it's almost perfect weather to watch a film outside.
Angelika Dallas: For a bit of something different, you can check out the stage version of Frankenstein directed by Danny Boyle and starring british darling, Benedict Cumberbatch. Curtains up at 2 p.m.
Thursday, October 23rd
Alamo Drafthouse: In another fantastic movie/beer pairing, Community Beer will be on hand for a special presentation of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET at 7 p.m.. It's a little bit more expensive of a ticket, but it also gets you five-beer flight in conjunction with the film. Or you can rock out to your favorite '80s jams with the TOTALLY 80s SINGALONG DANCE PARTY at 8:30 p.m., leg warmers not included.
Angelika Dallas: Another movie for Hitchcocktober, REAR WINDOW at 8 p.m.
The Texas Theatre: A final encore showing of 20,000 DAYS ON EARTH will show at 9 p.m.
Friday, October 24th
Angelika Dallas: They're heeeeeere! Late night showing of POLTERGEIST will show at 11:30 p.m.
The Texas Theatre: Cinewild presents a presentation of BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN at 9:15. A perfect movie for this venue.
Saturday, October 25th
Alamo Drafthouse: For an ultimate movie fan, the DFW Alamo is putting on their first ever Dismember the Alamo event. Four horror films showing back-to-back and you won't know what's coming up next. Dismembering begins at noon. If you think you're up on your Ghostbusters trivia, Geeks Who Drink will have a special trivia event at 8 p.m. You must have a ticket for this event.
Sunday, October 26th
Alamo Drafthouse: As part of their honoring Universal monsters during the month of October, THE MUMMY will show at 12:30 p.m.
The Texas Theatre: For my pick of the week, I'm choosing this awesome movie event. There's something fun and nostalgic-esque about drive-in theatres, and The Texas Theatre is putting on a shown the Dallas Design District. THE BIG LEBOWSKI will show at 7:30, but you must have tickets to go to the event because seating is limited.
