The Local Haps July 1st - July 6th
Here are the best of the best of film events going on in DFW through the Fourth of July weekend.
Tuesday, July 1st
Alamo Drafthouse: I'd talk about the rad PITCH PERFECT Girlie Night screening at 8:25pm, but it's sold out :(
Twilite Lounge: Tonight there will be another great free screening at 9:00pm. Tonight, they will screen THE BIG LEBOWSKI.
Wednesday, July 2nd
Alamo Drafthouse: Today marks the premiere screening of Bong Joon-Ho's SNOWPIERCER. This is one of my most anticipated movies of the year. Check out this link for showtimes.
Thursday, July 3rd
Alamo Drafthouse: The TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE was recently honored with a 4K restoration. You can see the horror classic that has kept from taking road trips in Texas at 7:00pm and 9:40pm.
Friday, July 4th
Alamo Drafthouse: It's insane that TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE is now over 10 years, but to celebrate not only a great SATIRE (yes, people completely forget that it's a satire), but also America's birthday, the movie will be screening at 8:00pm.
Texas Theatre: Continuing the patriotic movies, there will be a 35mm screening of INDEPENDENCE DAY at 7:30pm. And if you want a break from the sun, you can check out WILLIE NELSON'S 4th of JULY CELEBRATION at 5:00pm. Both movies will be screening throughout the weekend.
Angelika Theater: The Angelika After Hours will be COMING TO AMERICA, which screens at 11:30pm.
Saturday, July 5th
Alamo Drafthouse: You're getting another chance to see the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE again at 12:30pm today. Maybe not nearly as spooky, but that's ok.
Sunday, July 6th
Alamo Drafthouse: This is a repertory screening of the Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell-starring GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES at 12:40pm.
Monday, July 7th
Alamo Drafthouse: Two big events going on tonight. First, there's the AGFA Secret Screening at 8:00pm. Then continuing with the Bondthology series, 1971's DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER will be screening at 7:00pm.
