Tuesday, May 13
ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE:
Video Vortex at 9pm with DANCE OR DIE. Full disclosure, my bestest friend of all time helps program this VHS-only monthly series.


Wednesday, May 14
ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE:
BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA at 7:30pm. The classic John Carpenter movie plays as part of the "Great Big Bads."


Thursday, May 15
ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE:
BATMAN 75th anniversary double feature with Tim Burton's BATMAN and Chris Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT.

TEXAS THEATRE:
NYMPHOMANIAC VOL 2 at 7pm. In what is the second of director Lars Von Trier's sex-ladden epic, it's a much more darker affair rather than dare I say, light-hearted first part.



Friday, May 16
ANGELIKA:
The classic 1934 KING KONG plays at 11:30. It's a much more tragic movie than I remember, and I can imagine that it's amazing to see on the big screen.

NASHER SCULPTURE CENTER: 
'Til Midnight at the Nasher at 6pm-midnight, free. This is a rather cool event where you get a free concert by two amazing local ladies, Jessie Frye and Madison King, and at the end of the night, there will be a screening of FROZEN.


Saturday, May 17
TEXAS THEATRE:
1981's MY BLOODY VALENTINE (Director's Cut) at 10:30 p.m. I'm pretty sure that I've never seen the director's cut of this horror movie. There's going to be an autograph signing session as well as a Q&A with director George Mihalka.

KLYDE WARREN PARK:
Another installment of Classics at Klyde Warren which will start around 8pm or sundown. This week's offering is 1948's, Howard Hawks-directed RED RIVER starring John Wayne.


Sunday, May 18
ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE:
ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST at 11:00 am. Another entry in the month-long "Great Big Bads" series.

TEXAS THEATRE:
What appears to be the only screening of STRIPPED at 5pm. This is a documentary about some of the more famous comic strips. A big draw is that the poster features the first public art by Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson.


Monday, May 19
ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE:
BOTTLED UP THE BATTLE OVER DUBLIN DR PEPPER at 7pm. For any Texans, the demise of the Dublin Dr. Pepper (DP made with cane sugar instead of syrup) caused a mild panic, and this movie chronicles the struggle to keep this beloved drink around.
