DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is one of the most highly anticipated sequels to a reboot/remake of the year. Joking aside, I really loved RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES back in 2011 and given this trailer, it seems DAWN will be a pleasant surprise during the summer blockbuster season. What I love is the tone conveyed through the trailer is so heavy and tense. It is a bit of a bummer that the trailer seems to give away the majority of the movie's plot (Damn you, Gary Oldman! You've doomed us all!) but it hints at having some really emotional moments. Also, I'm so sorry I'm not sorry about that headline.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES will be released July 11, 2014, is directed by Matt Reeves, and stars Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis, Judy Greer, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
