Netflix Instant: TV & Movie Picks - Racing Edition!

This week, the only movie you should probably see that's a wide release is FURIOUS 6. With that in mind, I thought of a few movies/TV show that involve racing in some way.

TRON: UPRISING

Now, I know what you're thinking, what does the TRON cartoon have anything to do with racing? Well lots actually, the bike races have been a staple of the universe. And it just so happens that one of the main characters is a mechanic. Either way, this is a great entry into the TRON universe that will hopefully continue the mythology. The score and the animation are a huge highlight for me and it comes highly recommended.

DEATH RACE 2000

A Roger Corman classic, and this one has David Carradine was the inspiration for Mario Kart with deadly Transcontinental Road Race where each racer has a crazy car full of weapons meant to kill innocent bystanders in order to get more points.

THE CARS THAT ATE PARIS

As a bonus movie that's not on Netflix, but rather on Hulu Plus' Criterion channel I would like to recommend. This deals with the town of Paris in Australia where the whole town is in on the scheme of causing car accidents to salvage parts of the cars and to experiment on the victims. But there is a rift between the older and younger generation that leads to a pretty impressive conclusion.
