PACIFIC RIM Trailer Looks Like a Badass Version of my Childhood

Seriously, this is the most anticipated movie of 2013 for me. Not only do we have director Guillermo Del Toro actually making a movie, but it's a freaking robits (robots) and kaiju (think Godzilla type monsters) fighting for the future of mankind. At this point, all I can say is this was an amazing trailer. I'm glad to finally have seen some of the footage that the people at Comic-Con saw. For those that haven't kept up, the giant robots are called Jaegers. They require two people to neurologically link themselves to the machine and control one side of the robot each. The monsters are called the Kaiju and they look to have some sort of Lovecraftian origin and that's honestly one of the thing that interests me more. Plus, you know nerds are going to be "canceling the apocalypse" like they were "releasing the Kraken" a few years ago. Please check out some Jonesy's previous posts about the viral marketing here.

PACIFIC RIM comes out July 12th, 2013. It is directed by Guillermo Del Toro. It stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and of course, Ron Perlman.
