Finishing up the post by Jonesy, I'll be highlighting most of the most intriguing and anticipated Fantastic Fest films. I'm not sure about my short counterpart, but I am discounting movies that I will be able to see in the theaters within the next few months from this list. Even though I really want to see FRANKENWEENIE (shut up), LOOPER, and SINISTER, they will not be anywhere to be found on my list, which you should check out below:
NEW KIDS NITRO
Last year's Fantastic Fest introduced us to NEW KIDS TURBO, which was probably one of my most fondly remembered movies of this festival. Now comes the sequel with the same cast of complete morons fucking stuff up. I can't wait.

I have heard nothing but great things about this documentary that deals with the making of the Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of THE SHINING with all of the strange and hidden meanings. I can't say I'm an insane fan of the SHINING, mostly because I've only seen it a few times, but I love it when a piece of pop culture that is so famous can be put through a different set of lenses. Hopefully this doc will do this for me.
THE HISTORY OF FUTURE FOLK
The fact that this is a fictional origin story of a real life folk band where they save the world is good enough for me. The fact that it's a banjo and guitar duo makes it even better.

DOOMSDAY BOOK
THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WEIRD was one of my favorite movies during the Dallas International Film Festival a few years back. This movie is the effort of the THE GOOD.. director Kim Ji-Woon and director Yim Pil-Sung, and the DOOMSDAY deals with three different scenarios where the world ends. And they all sound pretty crazy. Most of the Asian film offerings from Fantastic Fest turn out to be gems s hope that this one keeps up with the tradition.
Since last year's LA PIEL QUE YO HABITO was one of my favorite movies of 2011, I was very excited to see the description of this movie where a young surgeon gets roped into the world of underground surgery and body modification. Sounds like it's going to be pretty gross and I can't wait.
That's it for me folks. Look for reviews to start coming out on Thursday, September 20th and remember to follow @WDYMS, @JaviFuentes and @AngJonesy for other movie type shenanigans from the 20th to the 24th.
