When Superman is mentioned to the common minion, like myself, I think of the clean cut, bright-colored suit wearing, all-American Superman:
However, the new Zack Snyder reboot, MAN OF STEEL, is not your grandmother's Superman. We are still a little less than two years away from the release of MAN OF STEEL, but that doesn't stop Warner Bros from releasing the first picture of Henry Cavill as the new Superman to get the the buzz going.
The photo looks awesomely dark, gritty, and less like the old-school, brightly colored hero from the 1930s. Seems that Snyder is going for a more realistic approach to the series...that seems to be the craze nowadays with superhero reboots. And not being a huge Superman fan (he does have the worst disguise ever), this photo sets a more ominous tone to what I was originally imagining.
So, will Snyder do the comic justice?
Thoughts? (I mean we do have two years to speculate).
MAN OF STEEL will be released June 14, 2013 starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner.
